John Nilsen, has been a Northern Virginia resident for over 45 years and has seen it all in his 30-year real estate career. Together with his late wife Anita, he built a successful business through their endless dedication to the needs of their clients. Early in his career he became an Associate Broker and helped the Nilsen Team consistently rank in the top 1% of agents in the area. John’s daughter Karen joined The Nilsen Team at the age of 18 and was mentored by her mother for many years. After Anita’s death in 2005, Karen and John decided that Long & Foster was the right place for the Team and their clients. John has since re-married and is semi-retired. He spends part of the winter months at his second home in Venice, Florida together with his wife Helen. While in town, John resides in Potomac Green and assists with daily duties related to inspections, property management, construction, and strategic and financial planning. During his “downtime”, John enjoys golfing, traveling and spending time with his 10 grandchildren.
